Playing for a great college team has been one of my goals for the last few years. I’ve needed a committed team who is all around great, from the people to their skills. When I came to Pitt, I was met with a great surprise: I could check off one of my goals. When I applied to Pitt, the first thing I did was check out their ultimate program. Luckily, I had known Skylar and he told me how great the team was and the people so I was anticipating the best. Over the summer and the penultimate of my senior year I had watched the highlight video and any footage of Pitt I could, probably obsessively. I had played around five or six tournaments and had worked on all my fundamentals constantly to make sure I would be a good rookie. Whether that paid off I don’t know.
So far I have learned more in the last few months then I have in the last four years of ultimate. I’m excited to get better and play hard with the team, and I know it’s going to take a lot of work. I know my passion for the game and to be great will pull me to work as hard as I can and improve over the next year and season. I’m excited to play in the coming seasons as I get better through club and more high level play. And even though we haven’t played much yet I can feel that our team is great enough to dream big; we are a top contender in the nation, and we will be known. Work hard. Be the best.
